Containerization is the evolution of the traditional configuration process required for hosting applications. A container consists of an entire run-time environment. It has the application, dependencies, and configuration files to run independently all bundled into one package. This single package of software or “container” is abstracted away from the host operating system making it portable to run across any platform or cloud without issue.
